Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Private Pilot License (PPL) and why do I need it?
A PPL is a DGCA-approved license that allows you to fly an aircraft for personal, non-commercial purposes. It is ideal for aviation enthusiasts who want to fly for recreation or personal fulfilment, and it can also serve as a foundation for those who later wish to pursue professional pilot training.
Who can pursue PPL training in India?
Anyone meeting the applicable DGCA eligibility requirements can pursue PPL training. You can begin your training after completing Class 10, while the minimum age for applying for the licence is 17 years.
Can I learn to fly as a hobby without becoming a commercial pilot?
Absolutely. A PPL is designed for personal, non-commercial flying. You do not need to intend to become an airline pilot to learn to fly. Many aviation enthusiasts pursue a PPL simply because they love flying.
Can working professionals or business owners pursue a PPL?
Yes. You do not have to choose aviation as your full-time profession. Many professionals and aviation enthusiasts pursue flying alongside their existing careers as a personal passion and long-term hobby.
How Long does PPL Training take?
The duration depends on weather, aircraft availability, student progress and training regularity. With consistent training, our programme is typically structured to be completed in around 6–8 months.
Can I pursue a CPL after completing my PPL?
Yes. A PPL can be a useful first step towards professional pilot training. If you later decide to pursue a CPL, your training can progress in accordance with the applicable DGCA requirements.
