What Is Airline Cadet Programme Preparation?

Airline cadet programmes are structured pathways for aspiring pilots to enter airline-sponsored or airline-linked pilot training. Their selection process typically assesses aptitude, psychometric ability, communication, group behaviour and interview performance. SkyWize prepares candidates for these stages through structured, aviation-specific training — from the initial application guidance through aptitude and psychometric assessments, group discussions and personal interviews.

Many Students Walk Into Cadet Selections Unprepared - And That Can Cost Them The Selection

Airline cadet selections are very different from conventional entrance exams. Candidates may face unfamiliar aptitude and psychometric assessments, group discussions and structured interviews — often under considerable time pressure. Knowing what to expect, practising the right way and receiving expert feedback can make a significant difference.

Little or no familiarity with the CPP assessment formats.

Generic coaching that isn't aviation-specific.

No structured preparation for GDs and interviews.

Interview-stage nerves killing otherwise strong candidates.

Purpose-Built Training For Every Major Airline Cadet Programme

From application guidance to the final interview, SkyWize provides structured preparation for the key stages of airline cadet selection — with aviation-specific training at every step.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the IndiGo Cadet Programme and how do I prepare for it?
The IndiGo Cadet Programme is a sponsored pilot training pathway that takes selected candidates from zero flying hours to a First Officer position with IndiGo. Preparation involves aptitude tests, psychomotor evaluations, English proficiency assessments, and structured HR interviews. SkyWize Aviation covers all these stages with aviation-specific coaching.
Is SkyWize Aviation's course suitable for the Air India Cadet Programme too?
Yes. Our training covers all major airline cadet programme selection formats — including Air India, IndiGo, and other airlines — because the core competency areas (aptitude, psychomotor, physics, English, interview) are consistent across programmes. We tailor mock tests to the specific airline your child is targeting.
Does SkyWize prepare students for international cadet programmes such as Air Arabia and FlyDubai?
Yes. While our training has been particularly successful with IndiGo and Air India, the core selection skills we train — aptitude, psychometric assessment, group discussion, communication and personal interview performance — are relevant to international cadet programmes as well. Students targeting programmes such as Air Arabia and FlyDubai can therefore use the same comprehensive preparation framework, with guidance tailored to the specific selection process they are preparing for.
What are the eligibility requirements for airline cadet programmes?
Eligibility varies by airline and can change between intakes. Requirements may include age, nationality, academic qualifications, English proficiency and medical fitness. For example, current IndiGo and Air India programmes have different age and academic criteria. We therefore recommend checking the eligibility requirements of your chosen programme before applying — and SkyWize can guide you through the application process.
What is the right time to start cadet programme preparation?
Most airline cadet programmes require candidates to be at least 18 years of age with 10+2 (Physics, Mathematics and English) as mandatory requirement. Students who have just finished Class 12 (from any stream) are an ideal fit for early preparation and they can also finish the Physics+Maths requirement from NIOS. Preparation is typically most effective when started with Ground Studies at least 6–8 months before the selection.
How is SkyWize Aviation different from regular coaching centres in Chandigarh?
Unlike general aptitude coaching, SkyWize Aviation is built exclusively for aviation cadet programme preparation. Our instructors have flying and teaching experience — meaning they train students the way airlines actually think and evaluate. The curriculum, mock tests, and interview simulations are all aviation-specific.
What does a cadet pilot aptitude test typically include?
Airline cadet aptitude tests generally assess spatial reasoning, multi-tasking ability, psychomotor coordination, numerical reasoning, and sometimes basic physics and English comprehension. Each airline has its own test format, and preparation with the right practice material significantly improves performance in these areas.
